ANNNDDDD HERRREEEE IITTTTT GGGOOOEEESSSS!!!
10 FACTS I BET YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT iKEM:
FACT 1
On Preparation Day, during Night Walk recce, the overall situation there got too intense that at least 5 committee members got sick. Most happened at the School of Business area. It was so bad that the committee decided to call it a night even though we only covered Red Route. Now you guys know why the Blue Route is considered as the kental route.heh
FACT 2
2 hours before the initial Night Walk, the Red Route-in-Charge which is Me and Arep walked the whole route from start to end. Everything went fine till after FoodCourt 4. The air was suddenly still and somehow, something just wasnt...right. It got worst as we stepped in to Business block.
The moment I stepped into the lift lobby, the whole environment felt different to me. It was as if I had just stepped in to a totally different place. Creepy? Yes, definitely.
FACT 3
The alleyway after the pokok pisang is a notorious feature in every Night Walk. This year, only the red route walked there. Usually, that route is where the two routes will intersect. But why not this year? Perhaps the makers of the Blue Route are kentals who are too cowardly, I don't know. Like I said, I control only the Red Route. In any case, that alleyway has a history of people getting fits for no reason there. Case in point, this kem, two people got sampuk-ed there. Both in the presence of the campers.
FACT 4
Ever since Kem 2006, Green group has been the only group to have been placed in the top two teams three consecutive times.
Year 2006, Green group is named Caterjade, lead by Nazreen (Zozi) and faci-ed by Wiya and Ria. Caterjade was tied FIRST with Asroq (Blue group, I'm part of it)
In year 2007, Green group is then named Kasturi Turtle and is lead /faci-ed by myself and
Aishah. Kasturi Turtle got FIRST with a landslide victory. In other words, the other teams were totally PWNED.
And finally in year 2008, Green group is then named Pembimbing Akhdor and is lead/faci-ed by Leh and Naziah and supported by myself and Nani (former green faci and camper). Akhdor got SECOND in the iKem and was beaten by Yellow only by a few measly points.
FACT 5
The Sports Hall used during the dodgeball games wasn't booked and thus wasn't approved for our use. In essence, we did try to book it, but was told by the SAA that it was already booked by BE. However, when the logistics tried in vain to find another venue, I marched up to BE club and demanded to use the Sports Hall. They agree to my demands and let us use it.
Kie i was lying. I didnt actually demanded. More to ask nicely.
Found out that they booked, but didnt use it so I asked them if it is okie for us to use it.
They agreed and so there we go.
It is however noted that if SAA were to come and chase us away, there's nothing we can do but go off.
FACT 6
In actual fact, the Fear Factor games are to be scrapped. However, due to some programmers *ahem*ahem* which I shan't mention who..though if I say, I don't think you guys know who anyways..insistence that it won't be the same Kem without Fear Factor, it was brought up again.
However the difference between this year's Fear Factor and the other years is that there is no Ketakutan. This is due to the fact that last year, it got out of hand and we decided to scrap that and instead put in Egg Toss.
FACT 7
In our repertoire of games, the campers are supposed to get much much more wetter at WCP. We have a total of 5 games that will leave them wet to their underwear. But due to time constraints, we managed only to get one wet activity in. In that wet activity also, the committee is supposed to aim the campers (we have two boxes full of water bombs.mwahaha) It all started off fine in the starting stages, where we randomly shot at the campers...but pretty soon, one smart aleck from the comm (no prizes for guessing who) decided to aim for his members instead.
And all hell breaks loose.
FACT 8
On Day 2, you might have noticed the red jersey than some of us were wearing. Mainly three of us, myself, Hadi Sufyan and Syafiq. That is the official jersey of MLS United, SPMLS's football team. Our other jersey is a yellow one which is worn by Fahmi during the first day.
The team is captained by Syafiq and Vice-Captained by myself. Lately, due to Syafiq changing school, the team is currently without any fixed leadership.
FACT 9
During the course of the Kem, if you noticed, other than the coloured armbands you guys received to signify your group colours, there are some who wore the black armbands.
Those who wear the black armbands are the Propstars. During the SSP presentation on the last day, they introduced us as the backstage people, the ones who built the props. Yeap, thats who we are...the Propstars. The Propstars are currently headed by Propsmaster Sufyan (me) and Propsmaster Syafiq. This is due to be changed as Syafiq is no longer in SP. Most probably, I'll be replaced by a more competent Propsmaster. I just hope the new Propsmaster makes Nazif proud.
FACT 10
Some of you might have noticed that among all the committee members, I was the only one who did not wear the KEM T-shirt during the last day. Please, do not think that I'm not supportive or anything. And my utmost apologies to my dear sister Ahlina, Head of Publication who ranted at me for not wearing the shirt she had designed. I promise to wear it on the first day of school aites.
Kie, back to why I did not wear my KEM Shirt. Mainly is because due to most of the Propstars didn't received theirs. So as their leader, its not right for me to wear mine while they aren't. So as a gesture towards them, I ditched my KEM t-shirt. Also, by not wearing it and also by not participating in the committee skit (yes, I was dancing at the back though), I'm showing to the other committee members my stance of soliditary.
